History

In 1941, Joseph M Wilmer opened Wilmer’s Electronics to fix radios. As technology changed at a fast pace throughout the years, so did Wilmer’s Electronics. In addition to fixing radios, the company also began to repair televisions, and then, the CB bang occurred. It was only logical that the next step from CB radios was to Motorola radios, which Wilmer’s has now been servicing for 45 years.

In 1962, the decision was made to change the name of the company from Wilmer’s Electronics to Wilmer’s Communications, to more accurately reflect the changing dynamics of the business. For the past decade, Wilmer’s has also sold and serviced Nextel phones and is now one of the largest Nextel Service centers in Maryland. Stop by and see why we’ve been in business for over 60 years.
